Instead of worrying about gay marriage perhaps the church should face the following:
1.Environmental issues, 2.Child porn, 3.Slavery, 4.Internet crime
Okay, maybe my little list isn't exactly what the church might choose to fight but I think they are bigger issues than say gay marriage. If the church has the money behind it, why not put to stop something that everyone can agree on whether than divide communities.
I think it's foolish to believe that this will open the door to people marrying their pets. I won't say that it's crazy because people have done crazier things. I just don't see the wisdom in taking away the rights of others. We lost the Prop. 8 and it hurt. It's still hurting us too. It's true the church did suffer much in the 1830s – the 1840's and beyond. They saw mob after mob attack them. Families lost parents and children. How do the last two sentences impact us today? Simply, the church despite knowing their past, will not step down. I don't see them giving up what they see as a moral fight. I am not sure what to think of all of this. A part of me wants to get down and pray for the church leaders to seek out wisdom but the other part of me knows that sometimes wisdom can only take us so far. If we are blind, we cannot see. This is the end of my post.
