Wow, that's pretty intense. Is this fiction, or based on real experience? By Greg

This comment was left on my post entitled "Rescued". Greg, there are parts of this poem that come from real experience and other parts that don't. The parts that deal with living on the streets are not real. I've never been in that situation, however while in Chicago shortly after high school graduation a friend and I witness a homeless getting food from a garbage can. It was painful to watch especially when some kid made a comment about it. We told the kid to be nice and he left. I've said this in other comments but sometimes inspiration comes from many sources. Sometimes, I come up with great pieces and other times, well I don't. Thanks Greg for the great comment.

Ringostarz, it is a pretty cool game if you are into these types of games. I'm guess so yeah. Don't exactly know for sure but it does seem possible. Oh and by the way, I don't like spam on my site so yeah don't spam me again or the comment will be deleted.

While I may enjoy my summer and I know that I will get a lot accomplished. I do have to be careful. I've got to have enough saved up in order to pay the few bills that I have. I know for a fact that I've got to do some clothes shopping. I am even getting some new critters. The order is sitting in a cart waiting for the order to be finalized. I'm getting a pretty good mix of critters too. Excited as usual! As far as envying me for having the summer off, at least you will be working. I'm going to try and get some presentations in but will do it on a donation basis and the money will go for upkeep on the animals and for new animals. That is what I would like to do any way.

Oh, I just stumbled across some Sims3 videos the other day and I was awfully intrigued. I had all the original Sims stuff...and of course, the temptation is there to get this new version. We'll see. I look forward to hearing more about how you're enjoying it!

Sometimes I thought the game was a little odd, like when I'd be trying to get my sims to wash their dishes, only to realize I was neglecting my own. ; )

Yeah...the game is cool! I've played all three versions now. I think that I like the 2nd version the best so far. Though certainly version 3 has it's nice points. I'll have to take a picture of one of my sims and see if I can post it the site. The game can be a little addicting. Which is why I only play it a little bit each day. So far there is only one family in the game. I think I might just keep it that way.

 

 

 

Wildife and The Death Sentence

Raymond Lee Oyler is a serial arsonist but now he's more than that. He is a man awaiting his death in jail. In 2006, he started a wildfire in California. He's convicted of 20 counts of arson and 17 counts of using an incendiary device for a rash of blazes in the area that year. He will serve his time in San Quentin State Prison. Apparently, they are going to try to appeal this sentence. This fire in which five firefighters died burned 34 homes, 20 outbuildings and charred some 70 miles worth of terrain. The damage this fire caused was estimated at more than $9 million and is the worst wildfire disaster since 1994. It charred some 24,000 acres in just 18 hours.

 

Now I ask you if he is truly guilty, does he deserve the death sentence? Let's assume he did light the fire ( according to the jury that gave listened to his case he did light the fire ) He meant to start the fire. Maybe he didn't think anyone would die from those fires. Maybe he didn't think that homes would be destroyed. Maybe he didn't about the families or even his family. I really don't believe that people ever really think of the consequences of their actions. In any event, people died because of his actions. Sure, wildfires can be caused by any number of events. Still, the jury said that he started the fire. In this case, he should get the death penalty.

 

There is no reasonable why that he could pay back the amount of damage. He can't bring those firefighters back to life. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have the money to rebuild those 34 homes plus to restock those homes with goods. Sure, he could sit in prison for the rest of life but then someone, taxpayers, would have to pay for his time in prison. I think it's only right that he should give his life for his actions. Now maybe, we should give him therapy and some time in jail. After all, he supposedly was depressed and under a doctor's care for it. Maybe he could get an insanity plea like all the other criminals in the world. Well, I hope that if he is guilty ( which again a jury said he's guilty ) that he ultimately justice prevails. So what do you think?

Sims 3

Yeah, I am one of a few people who bought the sims 3 computer game. I actually downloaded it from the EA game site. My first couple is a gay couple. I will more than likely add in a straight couple. It's taken me two days to figure out how to work the camera so I can add things into the house easier. At this point, I don't have any problems to report. I like the whole personality thing. You can actually create a sims personality which is pretty cool. As a sims works out, they actually gain muscle that you can see. It's actually pretty cool. I'm still pretty new to the whole sims 3 game but it seems pretty cool. In other news, I have only 2 1/2 days left of school. So what is left for us to do at school? Not a whole lot to be honest! We have a field day for the kids in our class and then in one of the self contained rooms in the high school tomorrow. It was supposed to be today but the it was cold this morning. It was actually cold enough that our furnace was running this morning. Hopefully, tomorrow is a warmer day and a dry day. On Friday, we have junior high field day in the morning and then movies in the afternoon. Monday is a half day which will primarily consist of getting kids off the bus, breakfast, attendance, and then award's ceremony. Parents have the right to take their kids home right after the program is over. It seems like we are missing something this year but I can't put a finger on it. I am going to be bad and take a little nap. Hopefully, I don't sleep to long.

Drilling In theArctic Refuge; A Reply from Sen. Evan Bayh

Thank you for contacting me about drilling for oil in the coastal plain area of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. I appreciate hearing your thoughts concerning the future of this pristine national treasure. Rising oil prices are indicative of a major issue facing our nation, the need to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. I believe that developing a sound energy policy, one that includes responsible domestic production as well as investments in alternative energy technologies, is the best way to achieve that goal. I support an integrated strategy of federal research support and market incentives for both traditional and progressive energy technologies, in an effort to lead the United States to greater energy independence and cleaner energy sources. I have consistently opposed efforts to open the Artic Refuge to Drilling. On March 16, 2005, I voted to support an amendment to the budget that sought to prevent drilling in the Refuge. Drilling in the Artic Refuge will do very little to address our nation's short-and long-term energy needs. It would take almost twenty years before drilling would achieve maximum production, and even then, it would only have a negligible impact on our dependence on foreign oil. I believe we should use that time more wisely by investing in advanced vehicle technologies and supporting fuel alternatives such as ethanol and biodiesel. Most recently, I introduced the Dependence Reduction through Innovation in Vehicles and Energy Act or DRIVE Act. This act offers a realistic, bipartisan solution that will reduce our dependence on oil by 2.5 million barrels a day by 2016 - the same amount we currently import from the Middle East. We accomplish this goal through a number of steps, including increased production of biofuels, tax credits, and more research and development into new alternative energy technologies. I appreciate you sharing your views with me regarding the future of the Artic Refuge coastal plain. I remain committed to promoting an energy strategy that encourages investment in technologies that develop alternative sources of energy and allow more efficient use of current energy supplies.
