Second guessing can be dangerous. If a surgeon second guesses themselves it could be fatal. Luckily for the most part, when I second guess myself typically it only affects me or my writing. However, sometimes just every once in a blue moon, second guessing myself can prove dangerous. If I give someone the wrong identification on a plant or an animal could prove fatal or put someone in harm's way. If I honestly don't know the animal or plant that someone sends a picture of to me, I make it my point to reach out and get that plant or animal identified. Yes, sometimes, I have second guessed myself, and maybe, it could have caused bodily harm. But I believe that I was right in one certain ID which I won't go into details but about the id. Without going into detail, I had someone tell me that my ID was wrong, only to find out that I was right. The animal in question is in fact something that can cause major health issues. It's not an ID that I wanted to be wrong about, In the end, I reached out to someone because I didn't trust the other person's id. It wasn't about me being right, it was trusting my gut. Something that I'm not always good at, but I'm learning to trust myself.
